sample tamplates

My install did not include ant sample templates and the user guide will not load. The guides on the site are pretty vauge, so the samples would be helpful. Any suggestions anyone?

Re: sample tamplates

Hello

The samples ended up not being included in the component, and the quick start guide needs updating. We have someone working on the guide at the moment and there should be a full user guide available within the next week or so.

Is there anything in particular you are struggling with that i can help with?

Thanks

Re: sample tamplates

Created a template, data set, etc and my page shows

No template has been defined for data include 'year'

We need some basic examples on configuring these data sets.

Re: sample tamplates

Hello

Can you let me know what page the broken "More Info" link is on please? I will get it fixed asap.

We do have the user guide for Includes: Data available at http://freestyle-joomla.com/products/includes/data/user-guide

If you want to display a year field, the best way of doing this is by using a normal text field (I will add a dedicated year field type to the todo list).

Please Note: The following info is for the v2 release of Includes: Data.

Goto the "Data Templates" menu on the Joomla backend. Edit the Data Template that you wish to add the field to. Then goto the "Fields" tab. Create a New field of the type "String". Ensure that the "Template" option is set to the dataset you want the field adding to. Enter the Title of the field as Year, and the alias as year. Save your field.

Now goto the Data Sets tab. Create a new data set if you dont already have one. Click the "Edit Data" link on the data set row (This will take you to the "Data Entries" tab). Add a new item if you dont already have one. If you now edit or create an item, the new Year field will be available and can be filled with data.

To output this data in the template, goto the "Template" tab. Somewhere in the Item Template, you need to add {year}. When listing the items, this will display the content that was entered into the field you create earlier.

I Hope this clears things up. I understand the Includes: Data is a complex product, and we are working to making things much easier to understand. If you have already seen the user guide, can you let me know some feedback as to what we can do to improve it please?

Many Thanks
