Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

The glossary is included differently when within a FAQ.

There should be a glossary content plugin available but for some reason, its not in the current version of Freestyle FAQs Lite. I have attached a copy of the content plugin to the this post, and will update the main faqs download shortly.

Please install and enable this plugin to allow glossary to work anywhere on your site.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

Hello Adam,
thank you very much for the update. And yes it works now more like i expected it.
But now there are some small things more where i can't find a solution.
1. It works in article but not in my catalogue witch is build from www.joomshopping.com

Bug or feature
2. When i click on a underlined word from glossary i will not go to glossary, i will land on FAQ page
Bug or feature
3. Because of the missing contend plugin i tried a lot of option to get it work, also i deleted the Exclude Tags from glossary setting and had not saved it, my fault, but also after a new installation, the default values will not come back. So maybe, can you be so kindly and give my list of the default tags ?

Best regards
Gunter

Re: Audit Message

OK no problem,
1. i saw now some info was not save here in the forum, so i will try to explain in other words:
i use a plugin called joomshopping for a catalog with a lot of text. And in this text your glossary content plugin will not work. In normal joomla arcticle all is ok.

2. here on this page  you will find 2 words: cvt, SOHC, from the glossary  and like you can see there the popup works but when i click on the word i will not come to glossary , instead i come to the faq page
the link from the word cvt: http://www.quad-trekking.com/index.php/component/fsf/?view=faq&Itemid=348#cvt
leads to faq but when i change the link to: http://www.quad-trekking.com/index.php/component/fsf/?view=glossary&Itemid=348#cvt
then i come to the expected page. Like you see i only change the the word faq to glossary.

3. Thank you.

If you need more infos please let me know.
Best regards
Gunter

Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

The glossary plugin is a content plugin. Can you check that the joomshopping plugin is running content plugins on its output? It may be that this needs enabling in a setting in the component somewhere.

Im not 100% sure why the urls are getting generated incorrectly. Can you try adding a menu item pointing to the glossary terms and see if this fixes the links please? If you do not want this visible on your sites menu, create a new joomla menu called hidden and add the item there.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

Hello Adam,
until now i had not find something like enabeling contend plugins in JoomShop. But i will ask in the forum. I do not realy understand why i should create a menu item for glossary. Specialy when there is already an item like you mentioned. But anyway, i had repeated the action to create an menu item for glossary, and now it is working ..
so if we find now a way to enable glossary plugin in joomshop,
than i will be totaly happy.

Best regards
Gunter

Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

Joomla can sometimes do odd things with urls depending on what plugins and extensions are installed and what settings are configured. Sorry about having to create the extra menu, I will try an reproduce your situation and get a fix included for the next version released.

Can you let me know what version of JoomShop you are using and I will investigate how to get the content plugins working for it.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

Hi,

i use JoomShopping: 4.6.0 it should be the lates one.

And i asked about this problen in the Forum

But until now no answer.....
If you can have look on that it would be a great idea and makes me happy ;-}}}}
Because a lot of information that i would explain in the glossary, is in the catalogue content of Joomshopping.

Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

If you goto Components -> JoomShopping -> Configuration -> Category / Product, in the Product section, enable the option "Use content plugins in descriptions" and this will allow the glossary to work on your produt descriptions.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

I am sorry, but just now i dedect one more problem:
i also use a "TAB" plugin from nonumbers in version 3.6.1
And if the Glossary plugin is enabled tabs with umlaute (ÄÖÜ) will not longer work.
When i disable glossary plugin the tabs works again.
You can see this on my site under:
http://www.quad-trekking.de/index.php/quad/herkules-320-hurricane-flat
There is a tab called: ZUBEHÖR
Currently glossary is enabled and this tabs is not possible to activate.
What can we do ?

Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

No worries, we are always happy to help and sovle any issues you may have.

Ive done some experimenting with the glossary and tabs, and have tracked down the cause of the issue but so far have not found a way of stopping it happening. Glossary uses the php DOMDocument class to parse the page, and for some reason, it is not correctly loading html attibutes with non-ascii characters. I will try to figure out a way of working around this, but dont have a solution for it yet.

I do have a workaround for this though by using the alias command when setting up your tabs.

If your tab is {tab ZUBEHÖR}, instead use {tab ZUBEHÖR|alias:zubehor} and the tab should start working correctly.

We always welcome reviews of our components, please feel free to write one if you have change. The JED page for Freestyle Support is http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/clients-a-communities/help-desk/11912

Re: Audit Message

Hello Adam,
thank you for your investigation.
With ALIAS it works.

But hopefully you will find a solution without using ALIAS.
Until there i will work with ALIAS.

Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

Tracked this down to a bug in the php xml library. It seems to be fixed in the php 5.6 rc version, but there are a couple of other small issues with joomla and php 5.6 so I would not update yet.

Thanks

Re: Glossary not working like expected

Hello

If you goto Components -> Freestyle FAQs -> Settings, in the Glossary tab. Can you ensure that the "Use Joomla Content plugins on Glossary page" is enabled. This should allow the AllVideos plugin to work correctly
