Frontend Content Editing

Do you have a more specific date when this will be available? It is the reason that I purchased your software base.

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Hello

I hoped to have this available before now, but things got delayed. I'm away on holiday this week, but should hopefully have a new beta towards the end of next week with the basics of the front end content edit available.

Thanks.

Re: Audit Message

I understand that you are on vacation. Thank you for responding. It gives me a better idea of my product plan.

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Hello

Just a quick update on this. We have has a few delays (only just caught up after the week off) with the content editing. The original plan was to use a modified version of the old support portal content management, but this turned out to not be possible. I will try to get something together for next week.

Thanks

Re: Front-End Edit

Has there been further development in Front-End Editing?

Re: Frontend Content Editing

We are working on it, but taking way longer than expected.

The version of FAQs included with Freestyle Support Portal has frontend content editing, but FAQs v3 yet.

I can probably get you a beta version with basic edit only functionality for an FAQ in the next few days if you need it urgently.

Thanks

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Hi, I purchased the Freestyle Support Portal, but have not had a good
look at it. Do you think that it would do as a FAQ module in the
meantime?

Re: Frontend Content Editing

It may be worth giving it a look. You can just have the FAQs part of Freestyle Support on your site.

For the final FAQs v3 release, we will have an import function that will copy the faqs from a freestyle support install to the new component.

Thanks

Re: Frontend Content Editing

I have added the Support Portal to a test site. How do I access it
through the frontend? I cannot find a menu item for Frontend FAQS.

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Your categories need to be configured on the joomla backend under Components -> Freestyle Support -> FAQ Categories.

Create a menu item of the type Freestyle Support -> FAQs: List FAQs to output them on your site.

To edit the content, you need to be logged in as a user with the relevant permissions (by default same as editing your joomla articles), and the edit icons will appear by each FAQ. You can also create a menu item to the "Admin: Content Articles" item type to directly access the frontend admin interface.

Re: Audit Message

Any new estimate when frontend editing and import from FAQ Lite will be available?

Thanks,

Claus.

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Hello

We dont have a frontend content edit planned for FAQs Lite (1.x version). We will be implementing a frontend edit for the FAQs v3 Pro release, but cannot provide an ETA on when it will be available.

The FAQs version included within Freestyle Support is very similar to the FAQs Lite version, and this one does have frontend editing for FAQs.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

Hi Adam,

Oh - yes, I know it will be for the FAQ v3.
Only the import question was about the lite version - import from lite to v3 - which I already have bought.

Br,

Claus.

Re: Frontend Content Editing

The Lite to v3 import should be available in the next couple of weeks. We are just finishing up a few support portal changes (finalizing the 2.3 release), and then we will be working on FAQs v3 and getting the last few things implemented.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

Any news about frontend editing? I bought the paid component for this reason...
I used glossary in the Lite version, is this lost in the pro version?
thanks

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Frontend editing of content has been available in FAQs v3 for a while now. When viewing an FAQ with the relevant permissions, use the top right dropdown and then Edit.

Thanks

Re: Frontend Content Editing

Also, Glossary is something that will become a stand alone component at some point, but I do not know when this will happen. You can use the Glossary system from the FAQs Lite component in FAQs v3 Pro by enabling the glossary content plugin.

Thanks
