Re: Create form for client to edit specific fields

Hello

Im a bit unsure what you mean by this. SQL Manager is a tool for browsing and editing your database already. All you need is to select your table and click the edit button.

Are you wishing to limit a specific user to be able to edit only certain tables?

Thanks

Re: Create form for client to edit specific fields

HI Adam,

Thanks for your rapid reply. My client is a wonderful business women and a delight to create for but somewhat difficult to train. When I give her Excel apps I create a view just for her that protects most of the fields and hides anything that isn't essential to the task she is doing.

In this case the shopping cart we are using on her site doesn't have a reasonable method for change the order of the display. I want to create an app that shows the product name, category and the order field, with the ability to sort on category and then change the order number.

I suppose I can create a PHP/SQL app but thought that if your app was an easier way (since it handles so much of the requirements already) it was something  would use often with other clients.

Essentially, the ability to create custom views is what I need.

Re: Create form for client to edit specific fields

I see what you mean here, and although the component does not do this at the moment, I think it would be an excellent thing to add. At the moment we are just finishing off a new version of Support Portal, so after this I will try to get a new version of SQL Manager released with a new view builder system added. I would expect that this will take a week or 2 before I can get this available for you.

I will let you know as things progress.

Thanks
