Search Results menu item

Hi,

When FAQS Pro search results are displayed, the page includes all the modules that also appear on the web site's home page. Joomla does that for any article that has not been added to a menu.

I tried adding a Search Results menu item, but there is no FreeStyle menu type for the search.

How do I get the search results to show the same surrounding module as the article displaying the search form?

Thank you,

Peg

Re: Search Results menu item

Hello

This is odd, what do you have the menu item for your faqs testing set to config wise (can you send a screenshot of the menu item page)? The component will try to find a matching menu item to attach the links to, but on your site it has not been able to find one.

Is your site a multi language site?

Thanks

Re: Search Results menu item

Odd. When I hit the "reply" button on my post, the form presented to me has a different subject filled in ("Re: Audit"). I changed it hoping this reply gets attached to the correct thread.

As requested, I am sending over screen shots.

The Article I created, showing use of the plug-in to display a set.
The Menu item I created to point to the single article.

Thanks,
Peg

Re: Search Results menu item

Hello

I think there is a bug in our forum software that pulls the wrong subject at times. I will get this fixed as soon as I can.

For the faqs links to work correctly you need to have a FAQs menu item. Instead of using the article setup you have now, try creating a menu item of the type "Freestyle FAQs Pro" -> "FAQs - List FAQs" and selecting your set. This should allow the links to work correctly on your site then.

Re: Search Results menu item

Thank you Adam.

I would like to suggest you write in the documentation that the Search feature should not be used with the Article plug-in if you need control on deciding which modules will appear on the Search Results page.

When I use the Menu item type of FreeStyle FAQS, the Search Results page does work correctly.

Consider this item close.
Thank you,
Peg

Re: Search Results menu item

Hi, I have the same problem when using Joomla Smart Search. I have created the menu item with all faqs but when seeing single search result I cannot assign any modules.

Moreover the breadcrumbs on the single search result page are incorrectly
/component/fsf/?view=faq
/component/fsf/?view=faq&catid=1
instead of my aliases which I have created.

Thak you in advance for help.

Re: Audit Message

No help?
Could it be missing component router.php??

Re: Search Results menu item

Hello,
If you are getting urls like that then we are assuming you are using an external seo component and unfortunately we don't support them with FAQs Lite.

We don't support them with pro either, but that uses Joomlas built in seo.

Thanks

Re: Audit Message

Hello,
thank you for answer but we do not use any seo component.

I have created menu item for the Faq id 9, it shows this url:
index.php?option=com_fsf&view=faq&layout=faq&faqid=9

But whean I search out this faq with joomla smart search its url is
/component/fsf/?view=faq&faqid=9

I believe that is why I cannot assign any modules to search results. But why is this happening? We do not use any external seo just joomla friend url.

Thank you very much for help.

Re: Search Results menu item

Hello,

We may need access to your site so we can look into this further. If this is possible could you open a support ticket with the details as this post is not private.

Thanks
