Announcements - Freestyle Support Portal Version 1.8 finally here!

Freestyle Joomla are pleased to announce the release of version 1.8 of Freestyle Support Portal. There has been a long delay in the release of the next stable version of Freestyle Support Portal due to the large amount of features that have been requested, we apologise for this delay. However, as you can see from the list below we have added a large amount of new features.

New in Freestyle Support Portal version 1.8:

  • Support Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.5
  • Create support tickets directly from emails
  • Use joomla content plugins on KB articles, announcements, FAQs and glossary
  • Auto close support tickets after certain amount of time of with no activity (as an option)
  • Can now add tags when replying to a ticket, and search and filter tickets by the tags
  • Ticket activity logging in support tickets: logs when status changed etc, full ticket audit trail
  • Ability to group users together to form a company and share tickets
  • Customisable ticket reference numbers
  • Change order of custom fields in the ticket
  • Ticket locking when being edited by another user/member of staff
  • Ability to automatically send an email when a testimonial is submitted
  • Ability to automatically send an email when a knowledge base comment is added
  • Ability to publish/unpublish custom fields in support section
  • Ability to search custom ticket fields
  • Fully customizable ticket listing in admin section
  • Warning message on archive and delete of all closed tickets
  • Options to hide various parts of KB articles
  • Ability to change recaptch theme
  • Made "admin only" notes more obvious on support section
  • Icons added to support tickets to denote if attachments are present, including number of attachments and what tags the ticket has
  • Custom ticket fields can now be searched in both basic and advanced ticket search
  • Option to disable file uploads for support tickets
  • Ability to apply css styles to the entire sections used by Freestyle Support main pages and popup windows
  • Make sure the AutoClose row is added to cron table in install / update
  • Ability to change the title of an existing ticket
  • Put multiple attachments at once on a ticket
  • Ability to edit comments on a ticket - admin only
  • Ability to edit and moderate testimonials and KB comments after normal moderation
  • Hide powered by Freestyle Support Portal setting

Several of our customers have requested features which we promised will be added to version 2.0 - some of these features have been brought forward to version 1.8, others will be added to version 1.9 which we are now working on already, and the remaining features promised for version 2.0 will be released in several months in version 2.0.

We very much hope that you will upgrade to the new version as we have worked very hard on these features. We are always willing to accept new feature requests and feedback from our customers.
