Freestyle Joomla is now providing your own Personal Demo Site. This comes with full admin access to the Joomla install.

The Personal Demo Sites will allow our users to fully try and test our components, including the backend parts.

New v1.11 of Support, FAQs, Testimonials released

Support Portal has been released. The change log is as follows:

  • New reporting system with customizable reports and graphs (BETA!)
  • Added BBCode support for ticket messages (WYSIWYG ticket messages).
  • New ticket cc email list, all ticket handler emails will be sent to this address as well as the handlers address
  • New button to auto sort KB Articles and FAQs alphabetically
  • User ticket view now shows custom status instead of just "Open" and "Closed"
  • Module to display users current tickets (Admin module renamed and new option for showing users tickets added)
  • Can now filter ticket by current handler, other handlers and unassigned (in Advanced search, hanlder dropdown)
  • "My Tickets", "Other Handlers Tickets" and "Unassigned" tickets labels can now be clicked to show those tickets
  • Added option to not displayed the "Support Tickets" and "Moderation" boxes on the main menu
  • Search and Smart search plugins for glossary
  • FAQ List module can now use accordion list mode, as well as popup mode for listing answers
  • User replying to an unassigned ticket sents notification email to unassigned email address now
  • Fixed all strict standards notices
  • Ticket status tabs no longer show multiple selected when searching or in settings
  • Fix issue when adding a new freestyle user one of the options doesnt function correctly
  • Fix missing image in Joomla admin menus
  • Fix incorrect status sometimes being set in ticket email notifications

  • FAQ List module can now use accordion list mode, as well as popup mode for listing answers
  • Search and Smart search plugins for glossary
  • Smart search plugin for FAQs
  • Fixed all strict standards notices
  • Renamed FAQ listing module so not to be confusing with the Freestyle Support one
  • Fix issue with language filters on backend not working correctly under certain conditions (the bug stops any data from being displayed)

Freestyle Testimonials Lite has been released. The change log is as follows:

  • Fix missing image in Joomla admin menus
  • Fixed all strict standards notices

Unmoderated forum posts

Sincere apologies about the lack of Moderation on forum posts.

We were not aware of the posts needing moderation, and hadnt seen them being displayed anywhere so unfortunaley none of the recent forum posts had been moderated.

We are now aware of this, and all current posts have been moderated, and are in the process of being replied to. If you havent had a reply yet, please bear with us and I will get them replied to ASAP.

Current API Keys info

The API key is temporarily unavailable. We expect this will return within the next 2 weeks. The key is only used for the Joomla! built in updater and updates can be applied in others ways until it is available again.

To update an existing install to the latest version of Support Portal, go to our downloads section and download the latest version of the component. Then go to your Joomla! backend, to the component install page, and install the newly downloaded version over the top of the existing one. This will upgrade the existing install to the version downloaded.

We apologise for the extra steps required for this, we are working on getting the API key and updater system working on our new website.

Freestyle Support, FAQs and Testimonials new versions

VERSION 1.10 Available now!

We have released v1.10 versions of Support Portal, Freestyle FAQs Lite, and Freestyle Testimonials Lite. They can be found in the download area.

Changelog (For Freestyle Support, but a lot applies to Testimonials and FAQs too)

  • Multiple language support has been enabled through all parts of the component (Translations not currently available for Custom Fields, these are still being worked on and will be available soon)
  • Full Joomla access level restrictions are now enabled through all parts of the component
  • Settings from the Joomla menus are now also available in a new "View Settings" section on the backend so settings can be changed without needing a menu item for each individual section
  • Support Ticket status are now fully customizable
  • Ticket attachments that are images can now be viewed in browser
  • Testimonials and comments are now paginated
  • Announcements use the same templating system as comments so the html can now be easily customized
  • Ticket attachment filename can be customized to include the username and date
  • Tighter security regarding the tickets and attachments that users and handlers can view
  • Fix "Model class fsssModelSettings not found in file" error when K2 is installed
  • Reset views and ratings for KB articles
  • Settings to allow ticket handlers to view messages in oldest to newest order (in the "My Settings" page within the support admin view)
  • FAQs default view mode is now accoridan instead of popup
  • KB default view mode now accordian when listing articles in a category
  • Customizable date and datetime formats in settings
  • Timezone used within freestyle support can now be tweaked in the settings page
  • When creating an account on the site any unregistered tickets from the user will be appended to that account automatically
  • Plugins and modules no longer cause fatal errors if main component is not installed
  • Announcement can now be sorted in reverse order on Joomla backend
  • Fixes for incorrect links when using multiple language menus
  • Glossary content plugin can now exclude certain content on your site
  • Fixed a bug where kb categories were displayed incorrectly when nested
  • Settings pages will now remember previously selected tab upon saving
  • Default per page setting for each places pages are used
  • Lots of other small bug fixes

We have made every effort to ensure that are no bugs, but with such a large change they are inevitable. Please let us know by opening a support ticket about any issues you have.

Freestyle v2

We haven't forgotten about this and we are still working on version 2 of our products. Due to the time this is taking we decided to implement the most requested features in the current 1.x version of the product. There are lots of new features to come, watch this space! Until then we plan to add more requested features to the most up to date version over the coming weeks - if what you would like isn't there then let us know - chances are it's on its way.

New version

A new version ( of Support Portal has been released. The changes are listed below:

Fix for MiloSEF, and other sef components will behave better
Fixed ticket by email issue with some exchange server setups producing an empty ticket message
Added ticket date to options for ticket reference number.
Fixed bug on some server setups with KB categories not displaying correctly

Can now select a category on the kb all articles menu item
New ticket email template option to show all of the tickets messages in an email
Fixed add more testimonials link under certain menu setups
Product details popup on admin side now working correctly
Fixed error when saving ticket groups on frontend
